My name is Mithi Alexa (Mia) de los Reyes (she/her/hers).

I am an Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Amherst College. I’m broadly interested in galaxy formation and evolution, but I’m especially interested in low-mass galaxies in the nearby universe! Most of my work involves analyzing optical/near-infrared images and spectra using data from ground-based telescopes and surveys.

I’m also Filipina-American, and one of my long-term goals is helping develop the global Filipino astrophysics community.

When I’m not doing research or teaching, I enjoy rock climbing, doing aerial silks, and eating baked goods.
